Terms of Service
Last updated November 5, 2026
1. Scope and agreement
DentRC is an independent educational service. These Terms apply to its website, installed web-app experience, guest sample, accounts, practice banks, test simulations, results, messages, and related content (the “Service”). “We,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operator of DentRC; “you” refers to the person using the Service.
Please read these Terms and the Disclaimer before using the Service. Where these Terms are presented for your agreement, accepting them forms an agreement to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Posting these Terms does not override any legal requirement for notice or affirmative consent. The Privacy Policy separately explains how personal information is handled.
2. Eligibility and use by minors
The Service is not intended for children under 13, and children under 13 must not create an account or submit personal information. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, use the Service only with permission and supervision from a parent or legal guardian who can agree to these Terms. You must have the legal capacity or required authorization to enter into this agreement.
You are responsible for complying with laws applicable to your use. Do not use another person’s identity, impersonate an institution, or create an account to evade a restriction.
3. Independent practice; no official endorsement
DentRC is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, approved by, or administered by the American Dental Association (ADA), any exam administrator, testing center, dental school, or licensing body. References to the Dental Admission Test (DAT) describe the intended preparation subject only. DAT is a registered trademark of the ADA; other names and trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Practice passages, questions, explanations, interfaces, and timing settings are not official exam materials. Similarities to an exam format do not establish official approval, access to confidential exam questions, or equivalence to the actual exam.
4. Educational scope and official requirements
The Service supports reading-comprehension practice, not a complete exam curriculum. It does not provide medical, dental, mental-health, legal, financial, admissions, or licensing advice. Scientific and clinical examples are for reading practice and must not be used to diagnose, treat, prescribe, or make decisions about a person’s health.
Check current exam specifications, registration requirements, testing policies, fees, accommodation decisions, score reporting, and school requirements directly with the responsible organizations. Their requirements may change independently of this Service.
5. Accounts and security
Bank tests require a signed-in account; a separate public guest sample may be available subject to the limits displayed by the Service. Fresh passage generation is restricted to authorized accounts and is not promised to every user. Features and eligibility may change as described in these Terms.
Provide accurate account information, keep credentials confidential, and do not share, transfer, sell, or rent account access. You are responsible for activity you authorize and for reasonable care of your credentials. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. You are not made responsible by these Terms for losses that applicable law places on us.
We may require reasonable verification before responding to account-access or deletion requests. Do not send passwords, access tokens, or other authentication secrets through the messaging feature.
6. Practice tests, progress, and availability
Bank tests contain fixed material. Leaving an unfinished bank test may discard its progress and require restarting. Guest activity may depend on browser storage and can be lost when storage is cleared, devices change, or private browsing ends. Submitted results and saved history are not a guaranteed backup of your study records.
Timers, delays, highlighting, answer selection, passage copying, screen layouts, and review tools depend on browser and device behavior. Interruptions, network failures, background tabs, or device sleep can affect timing or saving. Keep separate copies of records you need, where permitted.
We may correct content, reorder or renumber tests, change features, impose reasonable usage limits, or temporarily suspend access for maintenance, security, abuse prevention, or operational reasons. Material changes to paid commitments, if any, remain subject to the purchase terms and applicable law.
7. AI-assisted content and error reporting
Practice material may be created or assisted by artificial intelligence. AI can produce incorrect facts, invented references, outdated information, ambiguous questions, inaccurate answer keys, incomplete explanations, inconsistent paragraph references, or material that resembles other works. We do not guarantee that every item has been independently reviewed, that content is unique, or that it is error-free.
Use judgment, verify important claims with reliable sources, and report suspected errors. A generated answer or explanation is a study aid, not authoritative evidence. We may investigate, correct, replace, or remove reported items, but do not promise a particular correction or response time.
8. Scores, averages, and difficulty labels
Raw scores, scale-score estimates, accuracy, timing, trends, choice percentages, averages, and difficulty rankings describe practice activity only. They are not official DAT scores, validated score conversions, admissions predictions, or guarantees of improvement. Performance can depend on prior exposure, retakes, incomplete responses, device conditions, and other factors.
Community statistics depend on the available submissions and the inclusion rules applied by the Service. Small samples, repeat participation, and selection bias can make them unrepresentative. “Easier,” “Harder,” and easiest-to-hardest ordering are relative editorial judgments, not standardized measurements; different users may experience different difficulty.
9. Personal-study license and copying
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, nonexclusive, nontransferable, revocable permission to access the Service for lawful personal study. You may copy a passage using the provided button, print permitted material, and make private study notes. Copying does not transfer ownership or grant permission for public distribution or commercial exploitation.
Except as allowed by law or with our written permission, do not publish, sell, sublicense, share a bank of materials, redistribute questions or answer keys, use content to build a competing product, or use automated extraction to assemble training datasets. This restriction does not eliminate fair use or other rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
We and our licensors retain rights in the software, branding, design, and content to the extent such rights exist. AI-assisted material may have different copyright protection from human-authored material. Nothing here asserts exclusive rights in public-domain facts or third-party material.
10. Prohibited conduct
Do not misuse the Service, including by:
- Accessing another user’s account, attempting to bypass access controls or generation limits, or seeking private user information.
- Introducing malware, exploiting vulnerabilities, disrupting availability, overwhelming systems, or conducting unauthorized security testing.
- Scraping, bulk downloading, automating excessive requests, or collecting user data without authorization.
- Uploading or sending unlawful, threatening, harassing, discriminatory, fraudulent, or infringing material.
- Submitting confidential official exam questions, recalled exam content in violation of testing rules, or material you have no right to share.
- Using the Service to facilitate cheating, impersonation, fraudulent applications, or violations of an exam administrator’s rules.
- Removing required attribution or legal notices, or suggesting that DentRC or an official exam organization endorses your product.
11. Messages, feedback, and submitted material
Only submit material you have the right to share. The signed-in messaging feature associates your message with your account, and authorized administrators may see account details alongside it. Do not submit sensitive health information, government identification, financial credentials, confidential exam material, or information about other people without a lawful basis.
You retain any rights you have in your submissions. You grant us a nonexclusive permission to store, process, and use them as reasonably needed to provide support, maintain security, investigate issues, and operate the Service, subject to the Privacy Policy. This is not a blanket permission to publicly disclose private messages.
For voluntary product suggestions that do not contain private information, you allow us to implement the suggestions without compensation or an obligation to use them. Messages are not an emergency channel and are not guaranteed to receive an immediate response.
12. Privacy and third-party services
Personal information is addressed in the Privacy Policy and applicable privacy law. These Terms do not waive privacy rights or replace required consent. Avoid sharing information you do not want processed for the purposes of the Service.
The Service relies on providers for hosting, authentication, storage, and AI generation. External websites and optional third-party services may have their own terms. We do not control external content or guarantee uninterrupted provider availability. Links do not imply endorsement. Nothing here removes responsibilities applicable law places on us for our own processing or service providers.
13. Charges and future paid features
These Terms do not themselves create a subscription, authorize a charge, or require payment. Any paid feature must clearly disclose its price, billing period, renewal conditions, cancellation method, and applicable refund terms before purchase. A charge or automatic renewal requires the authorization applicable law requires.
If a separate purchase agreement applies, it governs purchase-specific matters. Any refund or cancellation restriction is subject to mandatory consumer rights. Do not assume that access to a free feature guarantees that feature will remain free indefinitely.
14. Suspension, termination, and account requests
We may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to address a violation, suspected abuse, security risk, unlawful conduct, or a legal obligation. Where practical and legally appropriate, we will give notice or an opportunity to resolve the issue; urgent risks may require immediate action.
You may stop using the Service at any time and request account deletion through the available contact feature. Deletion requests are subject to identity verification and any lawful retention requirements described in the Privacy Policy. Stopping use or deleting an account does not automatically cancel an independently purchased subscription, if one exists; follow its disclosed cancellation process.
Provisions that by their nature should survive termination, including applicable intellectual-property protections, accrued payment obligations, liability limitations, and dispute provisions, survive to the extent permitted by law.
15. No warranties or outcome promises
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” WE DISCLAIM IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND WARRANTIES ARISING FROM COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE, EXCEPT WHERE SUCH DISCLAIMER IS NOT LAWFUL.
We do not promise uninterrupted access, complete security, error-free content, particular response times, score improvement, passing an exam, admission to any program, or a particular return on your time or expenditure. No informal statement expands these promises unless it is an authorized written commitment. Mandatory warranties and rights remain unaffected.
16. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOST PROFITS, LOST OPPORTUNITIES, OR LOSS OF DATA ARISING FROM USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF SUCH DAMAGES WERE FORESEEABLE.
These exclusions do not apply to fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence where liability cannot be limited, or any other liability that applicable law prohibits excluding or limiting. Some jurisdictions restrict these clauses; in those jurisdictions they apply only to the lawful extent. Nothing limits a remedy or consumer right that cannot legally be waived.
17. Responsibility for unlawful misuse
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify the operator against third-party claims and reasonable related costs caused by your unlawful conduct, your material violation of these Terms, or material you submit that infringes someone else’s rights. This does not cover claims caused by our own negligence, misconduct, or breach of legal duties, or costs that law does not permit us to shift to you.
We will provide reasonable notice of a claim for which we seek indemnification, allow a reasonable opportunity to participate in its defense, and will not agree to a settlement imposing an admission, nonmonetary obligation, or unreimbursed payment on you without your consent.
18. Copyright, trademark, and content complaints
If you believe material infringes your rights, contact us through the available site messaging feature with your contact information, a description of the protected work, the location of the material, and the basis for your concern. We may request additional information and remove or restrict material while reviewing a complaint.
Do not file knowingly false complaints. This general reporting procedure does not represent that DentRC has registered a designated agent or qualifies for any statutory safe harbor. A request made through this feature does not replace formal legal service where the law requires another procedure.
19. Disputes and applicable law
For a concern, first consider contacting us with a description and the resolution you seek so we can try to resolve it informally. This is an invitation, not a mandatory waiting period, and does not prevent seeking urgent relief, filing a timely claim, contacting a regulator, or using small-claims procedures.
Applicable law and rules governing jurisdiction and venue determine where and how a dispute may be brought, including mandatory consumer protections. These Terms do not impose binding arbitration, a class-action waiver, or a waiver of trial by jury. No particular state law or exclusive court is designated here.
20. Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms as the Service or legal requirements change. The date above identifies the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated by a reasonably prominent notice, and we will seek additional agreement when required. Changes will not retroactively strip accrued rights or change a dispute already arising without legally sufficient agreement.
Continued use constitutes acceptance of revised terms only where sufficient notice and applicable law make it effective. If you disagree with a change, stop using the affected Service; rights under an existing purchase and mandatory law remain intact.
21. Events outside reasonable control
We are not responsible, to the extent permitted by law, for delays or interruptions caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including widespread network outages, natural disasters, government action, or third-party infrastructure failures. This does not excuse obligations that applicable law requires us to perform or prevent remedies required by law.
22. Interpretation and remaining rights
If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited or severed only as needed, and the remaining provisions continue where lawful. A failure to enforce a provision is not a permanent waiver. These Terms and any applicable purchase terms describe the agreement about use of the Service; the Disclaimer provides related educational disclosures. The Privacy Policy remains a separate notice, not a waiver of privacy rights.
You may not transfer contractual access rights without permission. We may transfer the operation of the Service subject to applicable law, existing commitments, and required notices. No provision creates a partnership, employment relationship, agency, or rights for an unrelated third-party beneficiary.
23. Contact and legal-rights reservation
For service questions, account requests, corrections, or legal concerns, use “Send us a message” at the bottom of the practice page when signed in. Include enough detail to identify the issue, but do not send passwords or highly sensitive information. This support feature is not a designated address for service of legal process.
Nothing in these Terms prevents reporting unlawful conduct, communicating with regulators, exercising statutory privacy or consumer rights, or pursuing a remedy that cannot lawfully be restricted.
